The Socratic Method

Socrates didn't tell people what to think. He asked questions that led them to discover truth themselves. This is the most powerful sales technique ever developed.

Traditional (Pushy)

"I want to sell you this product because..."

Creates resistance

Socratic (Permission)

"Can I show you how this solves [problem]?"

Creates openness

The Psychology of Autonomy

People need to feel in control of their decisions. When you ask permission, you give them control. Paradoxically, this makes them MORE likely to say yes.
